Fibre Optic Jointing
Fibre optic joints come in an array of sizes and design depending on application. Having had a vast amount of experience in Fibre Optic Jointing, on and offshore and using Fujikura core aligning splicers, we have the skill to fulfil any project requirements.
We pride ourselves in completing jointing works to a very high standard.
Cable fault finding, monitoring and Consultancy
OFS use state of the art equipment for fault finding; a bend, break or simply a bad connection within a fibre optic network can be located.
An essential part of laying subsea cables is to monitor operations via the fibre optics. This proves the integrity of the cables.
OTDR testing
When working with optical fibre cables, be it multimode or singlemode, the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) is an essential piece of equipment for testing the integrity of the fibre optic cables.
It can verify splice loss, measure length and find faults. The data the OTDR produces are typically used to create a ‘picture’ called a ‘trace’ that has valuable information for the trained user.

Offshore Fibre Solutions was created by two experienced offshore fibre engineers in response to the ever-growing Renewable Energy Industry.
We are one of very few Fibre Optic firms that specialise in the offshore market. Our engineers have worked on in excess of 15 windfarms and as a company our teams have completed Deutsche Bucht, Horns Rev 3 and Hohe See windfarms as well as many projects involving testing and monitoring of inter-array and export cables.
As well as fibre optic jointing and OTDR testing our projects also include trouble shooting, cable fault finding, monitoring and consultancy in the planning stage.
