Albatros is a 112MW offshore windfarm being developed 90km north of Borkum island in the exclusive economic zone of the German North Sea. It is an expansion of the Hohe See windfarm located nearby.

The windfarm will be developed in an area of approximately 11km² in water depths of up to 40m. The location has wind speeds of up to 10.1m/s.

Albatros will be installed with 16 7MW SWT-7.0-154 Siemens turbines, having a hub height of 105m and rotor diameter of 154m. The turbines will be installed on monopile foundations.

Offshore fibre solutions involvement was to terminate and test the fibre optic element of the array cables on the wind turbines and offshore sub station.
